View Full Version : Shamokin Area to host Black Diamond Cavalcade of Bands on Saturday

COAL TOWNSHIP - Shamokin Area High School will host the 43rd Annual Black Diamond Cavalcade of Bands Saturday at Kemp Memorial Stadium. The competition will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The cavalcade is a Tournament of Bands-sanctioned event. Competing in Group 1 (up to 30 playing members) will be Lewistown Area High School, North Schuylkill High School and Loyalsock Township High School. Competing in Group 2 (31-50 playing members) will be Blue Mountain High School, Donegal Area High School and Shikellamy High School. Competing in Group 3 (51-75 playing members) will be Berwick Area High School and Bloomsburg High School.

Also, exhibition performances will be presented by the Millersburg Area High School Band and Lewisburg Area High School Band. Closing out the evening will be a performance by the Black Diamond host, the Shamokin Area High School Competition Band.

Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Adult admission costs $6, and student admission is $4.The Shamokin Area Band and Orchestra Boosters concession stand will be open throughout the evening. The public is welcome to attend.
