10th ANNUAL SUMMER PRESEASON PERFORMANCE CONDITIONING PROGRAM

SPORTS PERFORMANCE SOLUTIONS is proud to announce its 10th ANNUAL PRESEASON CONDITIONING PROGRAM.

The program begins June 20, 2010 and ends August 8, 2010. This intensive and dynamic program is designed to challenge ever athlete's physical and psychological capacity. The program is ideal for those who must endure Two-A-Day practices once the PIAA Preseason begins.

We are proud to offer two locations this year. The first being at Champs Fitness and Sports Center, Minersville with intensive and exclusive hill training in Ashland and other locations. We have teamed up with St. Lukes Sports and Rehab Centers to offer our second location in Jim Thorpe to serve that part of the region. We thank St. Lukes for partnering with us.

About Dr. Boyer:

Bill Boyer, D.H.Sc., M.S., PES, CPT is the founder and director of Sports Performance Solutions (SPS). Dr. Boyer received his Doctor of Health Science degree, Master of Science degree with honors (Cum Laude- 4.0 GPA) in Exercise Science and Health Promotion with a concentration in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention from California University of Pennsylvania. He received his undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Behavioral Medicine.


Dr. Boyer is a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) with an advanced specialization credential as a Performance Enhancement Specialist. His interests include team building, leadership training, and self-motivational techniques. His sports medicine interests include sports concussions, cardiovascular abnormalities and sudden cardiac death in athletes with a special interest in preparticipation physical evaluations. Dr. Boyer has successfully trained Division I college football players, Division II and III college football and soccer players as well as middle school through professional athletes. He has also providied conditioning training to a professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter. Dr. Boyer trains athletes in a variety of sports to include baseball, basketball, cross country, football, lacrosse, mixed martial arts, soccer, softball, track and field, and wrestling.

As a former United States Marine, he knows what it takes to succeed, how to push the body and mind to the limit and get the maximum results from the athletes he trains. He mixes his unique experience as a Marine with the latest scientific and evidence-based training methods and sport psychology research to develop an athlete who is prepared for any situation. Athletes learn the concept of how to "improvise, adapt, and overcome" to reach their full potential and optimize their performance on and off the field. Athletes are taught the importance of mental toughness, physical readiness and the desire to succeed under the most difficult of circumstances. It is truly an experience no athlete will forget.

Bill was a successful soccer coach and trainer at the club, high school and premier level. His teams won a variety of championships in Pennsylvania and surrounding states. He was the recipient of the 2002 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Adidas East Regional Youth Coach of the Year award. Between 2000 and 2004, twenty-two of his players have moved on to play at the collegiate level.

Bill possesses the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) "C" license, the Royal Netherlands (KNVB Dutch) National Youth Certificate, NSCAA National Youth, Basic and Advanced Goalkeeper and other diplomas. He also possesses the English FA Psychology for Soccer, Level I certificate as well as many other USSF and NSCAA licenses and diplomas.

SPS also provides seminars and workshops on a wide variety of sports medicine, sports performance and athletic topics. Bill has lectured on the importance of preparticipation physical examinations, baseball injuries, wrestling performance and sports concussions. SPS will tailor any workshop or seminar to meet the needs of your team, group or organization. He is available to travel throughout the United States to provide his innovative and dynamic presentations.

Boyer currently provides his innovative programs at Champs Fitness and Sports located at the Kings Village Plaza in Minersville. These programs are offered on a year-round basis. Bill also provides his programs at various schools, clubs, organizations and homes.

Bill is a member of the NASM, National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), Clinical Exercise Physiology Association (CEPA), US Track and Field (USATF), and IDEA Health and Fitness Association.
